Short to ground on brake wire.

No voltage on battery charge circuit (for electric over hydraulic brakes only).

Display only goes up to 0.0 to 4.2 when applying brakes.

With Proportional Type digital controls the vehicle must be in motion for the control to have output. If the vehicle is sitting still with the vehicle's brake depressed or stopping very slowly the voltage displayed will be very low on the control. The is normal operation.

Control shows Short To Battery-No brakes

Brake wire shorted to an external power supply
Moisture in trailer connector
Contamination in the trailer connector

Shows No Trailer Connected When Trailer Is Connected.

Open on brake circuit (Blue wire).
Open on ground circuit of trailer brakes.

No Auto function (No Braking With Brake Pedal, but OK with the manual lever)

No power on the red wire at the rear of the control, with brake pedal depressed. Check "Stoplight" voltage in the Help / Troubleshooter section of the P3's Menu
Vehicle not in motion

Shows Output Shorted-No Brakes

Short to ground on electric brake wire (Blue wire)
Shorted brake magnet.
Moisture or corrosion in trailer connector.

Shows Open Ground-No Brakes

Poor or no connection to ground on the white wire of the P3.

Shows Power Loss-No Brakes.

Applied brake pedal or manual lever while connecting the P3 to power.
Poor connection on Black wire, Fuse or Circuit Breaker.
Faulty circuit breaker or Fuse.

Does the P3 brake control have a switch to turn off or does it stay on all the time?

The P3 does not have a switch to turn the brake control off, but after approx. 15 min. of no activity (brake pedal or manual operation) the brake control does go into a power saving mode and the screen will be blank.

What angle does the P3 have to be mounted at?

The P3 must be mounted in the direction of travel and should be fairly level from side to side. Front to back the control can be mounted at any angle.
